The program runs in structured cohorts with defined start dates. Sessions are kept small to maintain the quality of individual attention.
The primary program format. Students move through the full curriculum arc from foundational strokes through personalized project work. Weekly assignments are released on a consistent schedule with structured feedback at key intervals.
A condensed version covering the foundational and letterform construction phases. Suitable for students who have some prior experience and want to develop specific skills within a shorter timeframe.
For students who have completed a cohort program and want to continue developing their practice in a supported environment. Open practice sessions provide access to materials, space and occasional guidance.
New cohorts open when enrollment reaches the minimum required for a productive group dynamic. There is no fixed annual calendar. Start dates are communicated directly to students who have expressed interest.
To be notified when a cohort that matches your schedule and experience level is forming, contact us with a brief note about your background and availability. We will reach out when something relevant opens.
Session days and times vary by cohort and are determined partly by the availability of enrolled students. Morning, afternoon and evening sessions have each run in previous cohorts.
Each session runs approximately two hours. This allows enough time for warm-up exercises, focused practice, and reflection without becoming fatiguing.
A materials list is provided before the first session. Most supplies are available at local art stores in St. Louis. Some specialized tools may need to be ordered in advance.
Cohorts are kept intentionally small. This is a structural choice that affects the quality of feedback and the pace of instruction. It is not a marketing claim.
Send us a note about your schedule and experience level and we will follow up with relevant options.
